Today, I’m going to talk about Employee Internal Training during the Covid-19 pandemic, and walk you through the way of how you can complete training processes through Moodle, from the comfort of your home and without risking anyone’s health.

A typical business journey
To get started, the typical journey of a business is that you begin as a Start-up company with two or three founders. Within a timeframe, you may find extra financial support or hire more people with senior roles so you can develop your departments. As the company grows you find the need to hire more people for middle and junior level roles, but also more financial sources to support your business. In order for your company to succeed, your employees must become productive as soon as possible, which will be achieved by training them on your internal processes. But what happens when your business grows and your processes develop? Well, then, you need to re-train your employees.
The importance of internal training
In QC Analytics we understand that internal training is really important for businesses to work more efficiently. But what are the reasons behind its importance?
Let’s say you hire a new person for the customer service department, that person should know how quickly to reply to customer requests and the ways to handle each customer as an individual. But you don’t get this kind of knowledge anywhere outside a business environment, so it is very important for the employee to get the appropriate training. That way they feel more engaged.
As we said before when your business grows your processes develop too, so it is crucial to re-train your already existed employees on those developed processes.
Another reason you should train your colleagues is to avoid any breach of laws. Not much to say here, you just have to add elements of laws, e.g. elements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), into your processes to make sure your employees have acknowledged them.
Considering you are following your business processes that means you’re delivering a consistent service which results in happier customers.
Comparison of Traditional and Moodle approaches
While choosing the traditional approach for employee training, usually you need a whole day exclusively for hosting the event for all the people in your company. That means that maybe some employees won’t be able to attend for various reasons. Another hitch in order to prepare not only the content but also the whole event is that you will need a lot of effort in organizing it.
With the Moodle approach, things are a lot easier. All you have to do as an instructor is to prepare the training course within Moodle and share the course with the employee. Now it’s their turn to complete the training.
How we work
In QC Analytics we have worked with a couple of companies to transform their internal training program from a manual process to an automated remote process using Moodle.
How we managed to do it? For starters, we created hyperlinks with the processes so that employees would be able to go through the pages and approve that they have read and understood them. You should keep in mind that the evaluation isn’t an exam and you should help your employees comprehend how your company works.
